Tomasz Szapiro is a Professor and Head of Division of Decision Analysis and Support in the Institute of Econometrics, Warsaw School of Economics (WSE). He holds an M.Sc. in Physics, a PhD in Mathematics, and a habilitation and titular Full Professorship in Economics. He is a former Dean of the WSE Graduate School, and was a Visiting Professor in the School of Business, Carleton University and in the Department of Computer Science, University of Ottawa, Canada. He is affiliated with the Institute for Modern Civilization, WSE, and with the Carlson School of Business, University of Minneapolis, MN, USA. He has published two books, a monograph, and over 120 articles and conference papers. He received number of awards for organizational and research achievements and for excellence in teaching. His research interests focus on IT and Operational Research. His recent research is in the economics of education and economic aspects of privacy.
