Giusella Finocchiaro is Full Professor of Internet Law and Private Law at the University of Bologna. In addition to her University career, she co-operates on various scientific projects at both national and international level. She is the Italian correspondent for various EU Commission projects. She is a past member of the ENISA (European Network and Information Security Agency) "Permanent Stakeholders Group" (2008-2010) and of the ENISA "Working Group on Privacy and Technology".

She is a current member of UNCITRAL (The United Nations Commission on International Trade Law) and of the international group of expert for the "Accountability-Based Privacy Governance" project of the Centre for Information Policy Leadership with the collaboration of the European Data Protection Commissioners. She is the founder of the Finocchiaro law firm specialized in in ICT Law and Internet Law.
