Stan Matwin is a Professor at the School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, University of Ottawa, and at the Institute for Computer Science, Polish Academy of Sciences. His research is in data mining, text mining, and data privacy. Author and co-author of 250 papers, he has worked at universities in Canada, the U.S., Europe and Latin America. Former president of the Canadian Artificial Intelligence Society and of the IFIP Working Group 12.2 (Machine Learning). Founding Director of the Graduate Certificate in Electronic Commerce at University of Ottawa, Stan has served on the Editorial Boards of the Machine Learning Journal, Journal of AI Research, Computational Intelligence Journal, and the Intelligent Data Analysis Journal. He holds two patents and is active in innovation and technology transfer in Canada and internationally. Stan Matwin is a Fellow of the Canadian AI Society and a Fellow of the European Coordinating Committee on AI.
